How to tell us about copyright infringement, and what happens after you do.
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Northwest AI Consulting LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Northwest AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects copyright and expects everyone who uses our site and services to do the same. This page explains how to send us a notice of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512, how to contest a removal, and what we do with both.
This page is not legal advice. The DMCA is a federal statute with real consequences for getting it wrong in either direction. If you are not sure whether the material you are looking at is infringing, talk to a lawyer before you send anything.
Investigate first. Confirm you actually own the copyright in the work, or that you are authorized to act for the owner. Confirm the material you are pointing at is really yours and not something similar, separately created, or licensed. Consider whether the use is fair use, licensed, or otherwise permitted, because you are required to consider it before you swear to a good faith belief that it is not.
Try contacting us first. Most of what people report is faster to resolve with an email than a formal notice. If you think something on our site is yours, write to consulting@nwai.co and tell us. We would rather fix it than process paperwork.
No bots. A person who understands the claim has to review it before it is sent. We give no weight to bulk notices generated by automated monitoring services without human review, and we may disregard notices from senders with a pattern of automated or inaccurate submissions.
Getting it wrong is expensive. A DMCA notice includes statements made under penalty of perjury. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, is liable for the damages, costs, and attorneys' fees caused by that misrepresentation. Do not use this process to remove criticism, competitive content, or anything else you simply want taken down.
Send a written notice to our designated agent, listed in section 6, containing all of the following. A notice missing any of these is not effective and we may not act on it.
When we receive a notice that meets the requirements above, we act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material. We keep a record of the notice, and we forward a copy of it, including your contact information, to whoever posted the material, along with a note that they may submit a counter-notice.
We apply minimal judgment to the merits. We are not a court, and we do not decide who owns what. If you and the other party disagree, that is a dispute between the two of you and your lawyers, and the DMCA sets out the process for resolving it.
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, or that you are authorized to use the material, you may send a counter-notice to the agent in section 6. It must contain all of the following:
When we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the original complainant. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the conduct, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days of receiving the counter-notice.
We have adopted and reasonably implement a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts and access of users who are repeat infringers. We also reserve the right to remove material, terminate access, and refuse service for any infringement at any time, with or without notice, and with no liability to you.
